The concept of artificial intelligence is one we covered very briefly and recently in this course, and it was one of the hardest concepts for me to grasp. The thought that one day computers can be as efficient and even surpass humans in their knowledge and efficiency scares me quite a bit. It reminds me of that Will Smith movie, where people used robots in their every day life as second members of the family, and one day the intelligence tower controlling them turned evil, making all the robots turn on their masters. Computers sometimes know too much and knowing one day there will be a time when they will be more ingenuous and cunning then we are... well, that is a scary thought. To me at least, that is. Many people eagerly await it, like robots or artificial intelligence will be the savior to mankind, but I truly think our dependence on artificial intelligence will surely be our downfall.
